The role

We are looking for a Trainee Freight Coordinator to join our team at our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA), with opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week (subject to business requirements).
In this role, you’ll be working as part of a team to ensure effective planning of international shipments on behalf of our clients. It is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to kick-start their career in logistics.
This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £23,500. The working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Key responsibilities

- Acting as the direct contact between our customers and internal and external stakeholders (including carriers where applicable).
- To be the initial contact for all bookings, queries and finance related issues for our portfolio of clients.
- Overseeing and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the control tower operations, supporting the Quality and Compliance team with investigations when needed.
- Ensuring costs received and debits raised are as per the agreed levels.
- Conducting general administrative and reporting duties, looking to improve processes for cost reduction and customer satisfaction purposes.


Key requirements

- Previous experience working within a logistics or freight forwarding environment is desirable, but not essential (Full training will be provided).
- Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Good administrative and IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
