About the Job:
The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and technical support in the End-User Computing (EUC) domain within the YLEU IT central services environment. The role will report in the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager and in conjunction with that role is responsible for the definition and maintenance of IT strategy for the EUC domain. The primary focus for the role is to design, develop, build, promote and maintain the EUC management platform. The object of this is to create and maintain an effective and efficient EUC environment used by all operating companies across the YLEU domain.
In addition, the role holder will lead small/medium team focused on delivering and maintenance of the EUC shared management platform for YL Europe, they will also provide hands on 3rd line support and expertise as required. The team will be responsible for defining requirements for endpoint hardware types to be used, working with the procurement team on ensuring that procured hardware is fit for purpose and in line with EUC strategy. The role holder will be responsible for driving efficient operation of the EUC environment through the use of metric based decision making based on both technology based monitor outputs and service quality metrics captured through ServiceNow.
The European IT End-User Computing Lead role holder will work closely with both YLE IT Infrastructure Architect and the YLE IT security team to ensure EUC strategy and delivery is aligned to overall architecture requirements and IT security best practice.
Principle Accountabilities/Tasks
• End-User Computing shared management platform promotion across OPCOs and its stakeholders, adoption support, best practices promotion, optimization support at OPCO side
• Definition, build and maintenance of End-User Computing shared management platform in line with architectural standards and project delivery
• Working with OPCOs - workout best practices for European endpoint configuration, including region specific requirements or local legislation specifics
• Define and maintain baseline software set distributed across all platforms to all users, following change control process and proper communication, in cooperation with OPCOs
• Define and maintain security baseline policies for End-User Computing in cooperation with internal Security Team
• Define, agree with OPCOs, and promote provisioning process of endpoints, including required rights to perform various L1 OPCO activities on shared platform

Required knowledge / skills / experience
1. Very good knowledge of Microsoft Windows ecosystem with special focus on Windows client OS – Windows 10 and Windows 11
2. Proven track record of maintaining large scale deployments with Windows 10/11
3. Wide knowledge of IaaS and PaaS offerings on Microsoft Azure, including but not limited to:
• Azure AD
• inTune / Endpoint Management
• Other cloud platforms will be advantage
4. Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365 products, with special focus on productivity tools supporting companies in digital transformations
5. Good understanding of Microsoft ecosystem products, including but not limited to:
• Remote Desktop Services
• Active Directory
• DNS
• File sharing services
• Printing Services
• Certification Authority
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting language
Knowledge of Networking – DHCP, DNS, Firewalls, Switching, Routing, Wireless
• Excellent English (both written and spoken)
• Ability to think strategically and evaluate options in the short, medium, and long term.
• Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment, and to respond calmly and rationally to changing aspirations in a deadline-driven situation.
• Strong planning and organizing skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
• Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues.
• Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritization and a pragmatic approach
• Good team player, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Experience in working in international environments, with multiple stakeholders engaged representing different interests
• Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.
• Good influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
• Good presentation skills
Additional Information
• Professional day (8 hours per day), there will be times where the role will necessitate extra hours being worked in line with business needs. This may require shift work, too.
• Domestic and international travel will be required
• 5 days work per week.
