About the Role
The Sustainability Lead will drive the development of green solutions, manage the Midterm Plan – Green, and develop Scope 3 emissions targets, while also supporting internal sustainability programs and compliance. The role requires frequent collaboration with consultants, cross-cultural teams, and stakeholders across multiple time zones, as well as flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and frequent business travel.
The primary focus of this role is to lead and manage the organization’s sustainability strategy, with a strong emphasis on commercial sustainability initiatives (80%) and a supporting role in corporate sustainability (20%).

Responsibilities
Commercial Sustainability (80%)
• Partner with commercial teams to integrate sustainability into customer solutions and value propositions.
• Support sales efforts by aligning sustainability initiatives with client requirements and market trends.
• Act as a subject matter expert for sustainability in logistics and supply chain solutions.
• Lead the Midterm Plan – Green, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved, by continuing to roll-out the Commercial Sustainability Trainings.
• Oversee the development of Scope 3 emissions reduction targets with Business Units.

Corporate Sustainability (20%)
• Contribute to internal sustainability programs, reporting, and compliance.
• Drive corporate ESG commitments and ensure alignment with global standards.

Internal Communication and External Reputation
• Manage internal communication for sustainability news and information sharing.
• Create awareness and engagement on sustainability across all levels of the company.
• Develop and implement the strategy for customer-facing sustainability communication.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with external consultants to design and implement sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate across diverse cultures and time zones, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
• Represent the organization in industry forums, partnerships, and stakeholder engagements.
• Demonstrate flexibility in managing evolving priorities and tasks as sustainability requirements change over time.
• Frequent business travel is required to engage with global teams, suppliers, and external partners.

Note: This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively balance internal communication, external reputation management, and strategic development in the realm of sustainable logistics. The candidate should be prepared to engage with stakeholders at various levels, stay updated on industry trends, and contribute to the company's overarching sustainability goals, while his / her tasks may change over time depending on the needs of the company.

Financial Responsibility
Responsible for supporting the budget process and managing the allocated budget accordingly together with the Head of Corporate Sustainability Team.

Staff responsibilities
Manage direct report(s) – Sustainability Project Manager based in Netherlands / Belgium. Flexible working motivated, expected to work at the Antwerp office at least 3 days a week. Availability of own transportation preferred.

• Healthcare IV Green Solutions – kick-off HC IV project and support hiring process
• Employee Engagement – Global Sustainability Newsletter
• Attend and manage participation of Smart Freight Week Conference
• Manage and support career development of the Sustainability Project Manager

Secondary
• Support Annual Sustainability Report Development
• Support Head of Group with Administrative workload (e.g. manage bi-weekly Team calls)
• Support management of Regional Sustainability Leads
• Organize Annual Global Sustainability Conference
