About the Job:
Located in the CEE Region (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Türkiye) or potentially China. The function and role will report to Yusen’s Managing Director of Central and Eastern Europe.

Fundamental Objectives
• Increase the scale of international freight forwarding (IFF) related business (Air / Ocean) with China through key customers, new customers, and initiate “trade lane development.”
• Conduct market research on various business opportunities, create proposals, and drive competitive pricing.
• Represent the Yusen Logistics CEE team, working closely with, and building strong relationships with the Chinese operating companies within the Yusen Group.
• Support the CEE country teams and business units secure new business in partnership with Yusen’s Chinese operating companies.
• Support the wider Yusen Europe IFF team with new initiatives/projects where appropriate.
• Analyse trade lane performance, market trends, and customer demands to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies for trade lane optimization.

Principle Accountabilities/Tasks
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including importers, exporters, and other stakeholders, to understand their needs, and provide solutions to meet their international freight needs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with CEE and Chinese operating companies.
• Develop shared pipeline and target customers line between CEE and Chinese operating companies.
• Collaborate with the pricing team to determine competitive pricing strategies for the trade lane, ensuring targeted profitability while meeting customer expectations.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export requirements applicable to the trade lane, providing guidance to customers and internal teams on documentation and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization within the trade lane, streamline operational procedures and communication, to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the trade lane, and proactively incorporate relevant knowledge into the relevant operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure effective coordination and execution of trade lane activities.

Required skills and qualifications
• Both spoken and written Chinese language is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Minimum 10 year of experience within Logistics/Transportation industry, with a multinational freight forwarder or ocean carrier.
• Deep knowledge of the China/Europe freight market (CEE market is a significant advantage).
• Relevant experience in procurement and pricing.
• Strong track record in project management, business, and financial acumen.
• Proactive, empathic, energetic, ambitious, analytically strong and committed.
• Effective communicator with good oral and written communication skills in English. Demonstrates openness to new ideas; comes up with useful ideas to improve the way we do things.
• Awareness of local Country Commercial situation and promote Asia as a key partner within the network.
• Experience driving commercial results both locally and, in a network-oriented company.
• Entrepreneurial and Outgoing.
