About the Job:
We are currently hiring for a Regional IT Automation Manager who will establish the regional IT Automation function covering both Physical and Logical Automation. The primary objectives of automation in the warehouse are to improve operational efficiency, reduce errors, boost productivity, and optimize the use of space. Ultimately, this leads to a more streamlined and cost-effective warehouse management system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management/Strategy:

• Manages and coaches the automation team.
• Implements the Department(s) strategy plan(s) in line with the RSSC IT Strategy to meet strategic business priorities.
• Drives (technical) improvement in the Automation function.
• Increases the knowledge of the team to realize team goals.
• Liaises with the Regional IT Directors to understand business requirements, drive collaboration and alignment between the Regions and Automation team.
• Liaises with application, infra and security architect to align and to validate that automation deliverables are in line with RSSC IT architecture.
• Delivers and monitors the adherence to EU Automation standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Acts as a (technical) sounding board for the automation team members.

Customer / Delivery:
• Delivers IT automation capabilities using Yusen Logistics approved tooling such as (not limited to):
o Microsoft Power Apps
o Microsoft Power Automate
o Microsoft Azure Data
o UIPath RPA

• Builds a catalog of IT automation solutions that can be re-used across multiple OpCo’s.
• Resolves IT automation incidents and requests within agreed SLA.
• Contributes in a hands-on way to the team’s deliverables. This can be without limitation through:
o Technical advice
o Configuration
o Development
o Documentation
o Analysis
o …

• Builds a Yusen European capability on physical warehouse automation:
o Build knowledge on available physical automation solutions and market trends.
o Build catalog of automation use cases within Yusen Logistics
o Create list of preferred vendors
o Establish physical automation best practice that can be re-used by other Opco’s.
o Build together with the RSSC IT colleagues standards around integration, security, infrastructure in relation to physical warehouse automation.
o ….
• Manages all automation projects according to agreed timelines and report on progress

Business Growth and Continuous Improvement:
• Seek opportunities to continually enhance and improve the IT Automation function to add value to the region.
• Collaborate with all IT functions and help define standard service catalogue items.
• Cost saving: Reduce labor cost, improve inventory control, optimize space usage, which will contribute to significant cost savings over time.
• Scalability: adapt systems to changing business needs and increased workloads, ensuring flexibility.
• Employee focus: by automating repetitive tasks, employees will be able to focus on more strategic and value-added activities.


Administration:
• Manages the resource planning of the team.
• Approves holiday requests considering OpCo guidelines (OOH) and IT automation team occupation.
• Prepares and performs PDR of the team members.
• Takes ownership of QA policies and procedures for IT automation team.
• Ensures procedures, knowledge base items, technical configuration, assets, …. are properly documented in line with RSCC IT guidelines.

Process and Governance:
• Member of the Application Solutions management team.
• Accountable for IT automation best practice, standards, and execution.

QUALIFICATONS

REQUIRED LEVEL OF EDUCATION: Bachelor / Master Degree level or equivalent IT experience

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• IT Leadership / Management in IT / Multinational Business / Matrix organizations / Logistics Experience / Market Awareness / General IT knowledge.
• Demonstrated capability in both the technical and management scope of this role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and empowering employees to achieve success.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire technical groups.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Physical Warehouse Automation including integration with WMS/TMS/ERP systems.
• Logical Automation – Robotic Process Automation (UiPath), Power Apps knowledge strongly desirable.
• Prior project engineering and/or technical management experience is a plus.
• Analytical skills.
• Good verbal and written proficiency in English. Multiple OpCo languages is a plus.
