We seek a highly motivated Warehouse Team Leader to join our great team in Milton Keynes, Tilbrook (MK7 8BN).
The position holder will support and improve the Yusen operation on the Mitsubishi Electric contract, assisting the Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors in controlling the inbound/outbound process end to end.
The position holder will also provide operational support during holidays, absences, and high volumes, including back shift / early shift cover.

You will be expected to work in a set rotational shift pattern, by rota.
Shifts are 06:00-14:00 / 10:00-18:00 / 14:00-22:00.
The salary is up to £35190.87, and the Shift Allowance is £400 per annum.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the effective running of the shift to ensure products are safely handled through all inbound and outbound processes, adhere to all company procedures, and meet customer expectations and our SLA.
• Ensure all goods are handled in the correct manner to minimize damage and follow manual handling techniques to prevent injury and harm.
• Responsible for the training and aptitude of the staff, ensuring they are briefed and managed according to SOPs and SWIs.
• Awareness of daily operational & KPI performance and ability to communicate this in shift briefings
• Provide cover and assistance with reliable end-of-day reporting and customer update calls as needed
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, and attend all relevant safety briefings and campaigns
• Ensure all equipment checks are carried out according to procedure, taking appropriate action to ensure one's own safety and that of all fellow employees.
• Champion KAIZEN activities to identify and implement 5s principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identification, monitoring, and reporting of cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
• Lead the team to deliver all legislative and process requirements, including Health and Safety and audit programmes
• Ensure all company procedures are followed, including ER procedures, such as absence and performance management, standards of behaviour, disciplinary, PDR, etc., supporting investigations and disciplinary hearings as necessary.

• Proven and demonstrable experience of leading or managing a in a fast-moving, customer-focussed operation.
• Self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative

• Problem solving & Investigative skills

• Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills
• PC literate with intermediate knowledge of Excel and user knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Windows and Outlook
• Ability to make decisions quickly
• Good knowledge of WMi AS400, OPUS or comparable WMS
• FLT licences such as Reach and Counterbalance are advantageous
• Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
