About the Job:
The Data Governance Analyst will play a key part in ensuring that data across Yusen Europe is trusted, well-managed, and used responsibly.
The analyst will work cross-functionally with data stewards, IT, compliance teams and business stakeholders to implement and monitor data governance frameworks and policies.
The analyst will also assist with improving data literacy and empowering self-service analysis through Yusen’s Data Academy.

RESPONSIBILITY AREA
KEY ACTIVITES
Data Governance Implementation
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the data governance framework across the EU region including policies, standards and assist in training sessions for staff.
• Collaborate with data stewards and business teams to improve data quality and consistency across systems.
• Assist the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and business glossaries.
• Provide input into the design and implementation of tools that support data governance activities.
Data Quality and Master Data Management (MDM)
• Monitor compliance with data governance policies and report on data quality metrics.
• Work with data owners and stewards to identify and resolve data-related issues and escalate when necessary.
• Participate in data lineage and impact analysis activities to support data transparency.
Yusen Data Academy
• Assist with promoting the Yusen Data Academy internally within Yusen.
• Assist in the development of new persona-led training pathways improving data literacy within Yusen.
• Assist with promoting the business value delivered by the Data Academy across the organisation through the delivery of reporting.
Relationships & Teamwork
• Build strong relationships with data stewards, key business stakeholders and the wider data team.
• Collaborate with the EU Data Team on a regular basis to enhance and share knowledge, support team projects as required.
Continuous Improvement
• Stay up to date with the latest practices in Data Governance.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in governance tools to bring continued improvement to the service we provide.
QUALIFICATONS
REQUIRED LEVEL OF EDUCATION
• Undergraduate degree in IT, data analytics or STEM subject desirable.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 2-years’ experience in data governance, data quality or data management role.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with modern data platforms and analytics applications (e.g., Power BI, Databricks, Alteryx, DataHub etc).
• Knowledge of data modelling, metadata and master data concepts is a plus.
• Proficiency in Unity Catalog, SQL, Python or data analysis tools is advantageous.
