We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to be based at our site in Marston Gate (MK43 0YL). This is exciting opportunity offers outstanding personal career growth within our organisation.
The standard working hours are expected to be 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, however this role will require a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
The successful candidate will be flexible in approach within the Warehouse Operations of Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd. It is essential that a designated task is carried out when required by management and that all jobs are carried out to both the Customers and Company’s standards within the Code of Safe Working Practices, taking into account the individuals’ responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and other relevant legislation.
Main Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the warehouse operations in order to provide the best possible service to the Customer.
• Motivate and direct staff to ensure all Yusen and Customer targets are met on a daily basis.
• Provide effective advice and support for staff in carrying out their duties. Conduct inductions/training as necessary.
• Oversee the effective running of the warehouse operation to ensure products are safely handled through all inbound and outbound processes, ensuring all company/customer procedures are adhered to, to meet customer expectations and our SLA.
• Ensure all goods are handled in the correct manner to ensure that damage to kept to a minimum and manual handling techniques are followed to prevent injury and harm.
• Good awareness of daily operational & KPI performance and able to communicate this in shift briefings
• Provide cover and assistance with reliable end-of-shift reporting and customer update calls as needed
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, and attend all relevant safety briefings and campaigns
• Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, taking appropriate action to ensure own safety and that of all fellow employees
• Ensure all customer and company procedures are adhered to including ER procedures, such as absence and performance management, standards of behaviour, disciplinary, PDR, etc, supporting with investigations and disciplinary hearings as necessary.
• Champion KAIZEN activities to identify and implement 5S principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Identification, monitoring and reporting of cost saving initiatives and process improvements
Key Experience:
• Good level of understanding of the English Language both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and operational experience of Warehouse Management Systems
• Awareness of KAIZEN principles
• Experience of leadership/ management of direct reports
• Self- motivated and enthusiasm to work on own initiative
• Knowledge of Microsoft systems, such as excel, word, outlook, etc
• MHE license desirable
