We are looking for Warehouse Operatives to work flexibly on an Annualised Hours contract. The role will be located at our site in Panattoni Park, Northampton, NN7 4DE.

What is an Annualised Contract and how does it work?

As an employee on an Annualised hours Contract, you can independently decide how many shifts you can do weekly. As a permanent staff member, you will have access to our benefits if you commit to the hours set in your contract.

Don’t worry, we can work around you; We have an opportunity to work 3 shifts a week on nights, 9:30pm – 6am, between Sunday and Thursday.
There may be an opportunity to do more shifts depending on volume and availability.

How can I book shifts?

We will send shifts directly via our Joined Up system; this will include the location, shift pattern and who to report to. All you must do is simply book your shifts and turn up.

Main Duties of a Warehouse Operative

- Locating and moving white goods through the warehouse to the relevant loading bay
- Loading the items into the vehicles for delivery, using sack barrows
- Participating in general warehouse duties where manual handling would be involved in the process
- Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operations and customer service
- Carry out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of the warehouse
- Ensure any concerns, issues or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to your line manager to allow appropriate action to be taken at the earliest opportunity
- Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, including absence, performance, standards of behaviour, taking due consideration of company values
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, escalating any concerns to your line manager at the earliest opportunity
- Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, raising any defects to your line manager
- Ensuring 5S standards are always maintained

Required skills

- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is essential
- Flexibility to travel to other Yusen sites in the Northamptonshire area would be an advantage, although not essential
- Good level of general education, including a good understanding of both written and verbal English
- Literate and numerate
- Awareness of manual handling techniques as this is a role moving bulk items
- Flexibility to work shifts where required
