We are looking for a Customs Support Coordinator to be based at our Marston Gate site (MK43 0YL).
As a Customs Support Coordinator you will effectively co-ordinate the UK customs formalities within the Healthcare Operation, ensuring all customs requirements are handled in line with internal and legal procedures. The successful post holder will assist Customs Supervisor with all customs related queries and new lane implementations. You will also be responsible for keeping the system updated with trip documentation and providing support to the Logistics Co-ordinators where required.
You will be expected to work Monday to Friday: 0800-1700 / 0900-1800. Potential future requirement for 1000-1900 with the opportunity to work remotely 3 days a week (Subject to Business Requirements).

Key responsibilities:
Customs Activity
• Process all UK imports and exports by liaising with various stakeholders
• Work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth seamless service levels are achieved
• Assist with the organisation of the Contract Support mailbox
• Act as point of contact for clients and brokers, ensuring that all operational, customs requirements and enquiries are responded to on time and concluded accurately and courteously
• Track and ensure timely closure of all Transit documents.
System Administration/Teamwork
• Maintain the customs matrix and propose improvement initiatives to keep up with ever-evolving customs requirements
• Assist with the customer set up and implementation of new lanes
• Assisting with debrief, basic documentation uploads to the TMS, data input and any other relevant tasks set out by the Customs supervisor
• Work closely with the Logistics Co-ordinators and provide cover and support where workload capacity allows
• Requirement to cross-train to enable cover for holiday / sickness / out of office and be a ‘Buddy’ for audit trail purposes
KPI reporting and management
• Monitor team KPI’s and take action to improve results wherever possible
• Maintain systems with accurate and real-time data
• Communicate and escalate issues to management when it is necessary to do so
• Ensure total accuracy of all information and high standards of operational service are met at all times
• Make recommendations and initiate improvement strategies as agreed with the Customs supervisor.

• Flexible approach and ability to prioritise
• Highly organised with ability to work under pressure and to deadline
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
