International Freight Forwarding Application Specialist

To strengthen our European application landscape, we are looking for an International Freight Forwarding Application Specialist to support and optimize our global IFF system: CARGO WISE.

Your Role
As an International Freight Forwarding Application Specialist, you provide second-line support for our strategic global freight forwarding system, CargoWise. You support users across Europe, manage incidents, design solutions, and play a key role in improving system performance and user experience.
You act as a central interface between business, IT, and external partners, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement of our logistics processes. In addition, you contribute to system implementations, process harmonization, and upcoming transformation initiatives.

This role combines strong freight forwarding knowledge with IT expertise and offers the opportunity to take on a key position within an international and fast-paced environment, contributing directly to business-critical systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Support & Incident Management
• Provide technical support to internal customers across Europe
• Act as the system Super User within an IT context
• Manage incidents and problems according to defined SLAs and processes
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times

Solution Design
• Analyse customer requirements and translate them into system solutions
• Present options and agree on functional specifications
• Produce clear documentation for proposed solutions

System Testing
• Test solutions thoroughly and guide users through UAT
• Ensure high-quality, reliable system improvements

Project Management
• Manage small-scale projects using Yusen PM tools
• Coordinate with external vendors where needed
Training & Deployment
• Deliver training and supporting materials
• Ensure users can fully utilise the implemented solutions

What You Bring
• Experience in a Logistics environment and Freight Forwarding systems.
• Experience in Cargo Wise and EDI Platform (e,g Lobster) is a plus
• A-levels in Mathematics, English and Science preferred
• Ability to translate business needs into clear functional documentation.
• Hands-on experience managing small projects.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels.
• A proactive, analytical mindset and the ability to work under time pressure.
• Quick learner with strong system affinity; Computer Science background is a plus.
