We are looking for an Ocean Freight Customs Co-ordinator (12 Month FTC, maternity cover) based in our Tilbrook site (MK7 8BN) to work Monday to Friday 0830 – 1730.
The successful post holder will maintain a centre of excellent customer service to the Customs & Logistics clientele of Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd. You will continuously review ways of working to ensure shipments are managed efficiently and ‘right first time’ whilst developing industry knowledge to support identification, delivery and enhancement of margin opportunities.
The role will offer the salary up to £27000.00 per annum.

Key responsibilities:
• Work closely with clients and suppliers to ensure smooth seamless service levels are achieved.
• Complete Customs clearance as per customer instructions and adhering to HMRC Regulations
• Complete Transit procedures in line with Customer instructions and adhering to HMRC Regulations
• Act as direct point of contact for clients, ensuring that all operational, Customs requirements and enquiries are responded to on time and concluded accurately and courteously
• Prepare KPI reports and present to clients as required.
• Maintain systems with accurate and real-time data
• Monitor and control all cost and revenue at job-file level
• Complete regular audits on the Customs activity to ensure adherence with HM Customs procedures / client instructions
• Confirm and process all job-file invoicing where required
• Ensure total accuracy of all information and high standards of operational service are met at all times
• Observe deadlines and SOP
Key requirements:
• BTEC / or equivalent recognised qualification within the Customs International Industry desirable
• Knowledge of Customs Procedures & Regulations
• Freight Forwarding
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Strong numeracy/literacy
• Commercially minded
• Highly organised with ability to work under pressure and to deadline
• Problem solving & Investigative skills
• Presentation of Documents/Spreadsheets
