We are looking for a Transport Planner to be at our site in Findern, Derby (DE65 6BG).
The Planner will be responsible for building cost effective, deliverable, compliant and safe loads for onward delivery by a mix of dedicated equipment and approved sub-contract hauliers.
During the induction period, the position holder will be required to undergo a training at the customer’s sites in Scotland.
The position will offer a salary of 29-32K (Depending on Experience).
Key responsibilities:
1. Operational Control
a. Building cost effective, deliverable, compliant and safe loads for onward delivery by a mix of dedicated equipment and approved sub-contract hauliers.
2. Customer Service
a. Establish and maintain good customer relationships, acting as the key customer contact for order requests and processing.
b. Ensuring that professional and effective communication is always maintained.
c. Identify and recommend appropriate resolutions to customer queries or failures.
3. Financial and Budget / Cost Control
a. Responsibility for transport plans to optimising core fleet utilisation and close management of sub-contract haulage costs are in line with SLA agreed rates and identification of exceptional spend Out of Scope requests are identified and these can then be recovered accordingly
4. Continuous Improvement
a. Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operation and customer service.
5. Health and Safety & Company Procedures
a. Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to all times, raising any non-compliances or concerns at the earliest opportunity.
b. Ensure all company procedures, including absence, performance, holiday, etc are managed and adhered to.
Key requirements:
• Excellent Transport understanding, including: trailer planning, planning non-standard product profiles (optimising load fill efficiency whilst remaining compliant with H&S, construction and use regulations for the and alignment with the vehicle selection criteria)
• 4PL experience
• Flexible approach to hours of work and location (ability to attend a training at the customer’s sites)
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Clean Driving licence
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to withstand pressure and work to tight deadlines
• IT – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Vision, Zeus
