Job Title: Transport Operator
Location: Northampton (NN7 4DE)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £29,536.38
We are looking for a talented Transport Operator to join our dedicated team on a full time, permanent basis at our Northampton site. The working schedule is predominantly Monday to Friday, 05:00–13:00, with one Saturday in every five required as part of the rota.
Role Purpose
To ensure the smooth and efficient daily movement of goods through our logistics hub. The Transport Operator plays a central role in coordinating fleet activity, supporting drivers, and delivering excellent customer service. This position is key to maintaining compliance, strengthening client relationships, and keeping our supply chain running reliably for household name clients within the consumable electronics sector (white goods).

Role Responsibilities
• Coordinate fleet activity for timely, compliant, customer-focused deliveries
• Manage customer delivery requests and liaise with drivers
• Act as main contact for order processing
• Build strong client relationships via phone and email
• Escalate issues promptly to maintain service standards
• Recommend solutions to customer queries or delivery failures
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
• Support smooth running of traffic office contracts
Candidate Requirements
• Knowledge of warehouse and transport procedures (including WTR & EU Driver regulations)
• Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Confidence in supervising drivers and building client relationships
• Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
