What’s the job about: As a Business Development Manager your objective will be to identify, grow and develop new business opportunities for Yusen Logistics.
With a consultative, solutions based selling style you will create targeted plans, promote products and services, and build trusted relationships with prospective customers to fully understand their requirements and lead multi-function bid teams to create compelling solutions that make our customers more successful.
Tasks and responsibilities:
1/ Lead generation
• Develop a lead list based on OFF strategy, report progress in CRM and conduct meetings with potential leads
• Attend industry exhibitions as a Yusen Logistics ambassador and sell the brand
2/ RFQ Handling
• You will act as project manager during an RFQ process where you will receive support from our operational, solutions & design and management teams to build a solution which fits the needs of our customers
3/ Solutions design and product development:
• Owner of the approvals for a solution and ABC model (OPS, Finance, Mngmt approval)
• Establish the required project team
• Facilitate customer meetings for answering questions of SD team
• Build relationships with IV’s to align on business priorities and developments within Yusen Logistics on all products and services
4/ Implementation support
• Support the implementation team with the commercial activities
• Act as escalation point for commercial elements/discussions
5/ Key account management
• Act as Key account manager for corporate and key accounts
Who are we looking for:
• Bachelor level or equal by experience, Master preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience within OFF industry
• Have strong track record in sales, business and financial acumen
• Effective communicator with good oral and written communication skills in English (other languages preferred). Demonstrated good listening and negotiation skills
• Develops relationships with customers (external and internal) listens to and understands customer needs
• Self motivated and disciplined hunter with the ability to work with one’s own initiative and as part of a team
• Demonstrates openness to new ideas; comes up with useful ideas to improve the way we do things
• You are looking for a business development role with a strong focus on hunting for new business (hunting: 70%, farming: 30%)
